The potential candidate must have a degree from a reputable (internationally recognized) university or technical college in either architecture, interior design, industrial design, information/environmental graphics or signage and wayfinding.
A minimum 3-5years experience working in a global level design firm e.g. architecture, design or branding is essential. Applicants must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator/ InDesign/ Photoshop and Microsoft Office. 3D rendering (e.g. 3D StudioMax, VRay, Solidworks) is a pre-requisite, as is Sketchup and Revit.
If you have design sensibility and finesse, and an understanding of current international design trends, materials, fabrication processes, design applications, can sketch/draw, can interpret architectural plans, can review technical drawings and understand interior design packages your profile will suit the role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation of signage concept designs for hotels, theme parks, retail and residential environments. Concept designs will include sketches, Adobe Illustrator designs and layouts, realistic 3D rendering, material reference and project design reference. Design packages will be created in Adobe InDesign ranging from strategy to concept and detailed design. Signage graphic layouts will be developed with an understanding and appreciation of design balance, typography, iconography and colour. Responsibilities include briefing the technical team on approved concept designs, reviewing technical drawings, developing wayfinding strategies and principle placements. You will manage the creation of prototypes with suppliers and do on-site and factory reviews of signage components under construction and installations.
Additional responsibilities include the development of new and improved ways for the business to create work efficiently and accurately, attending client and consultant meetings and managing design co-ordination communication between design disciplines. Communicating with clients via email and phone is expected and the candidate must be able to present design principles and work to clients within formal business environments confidently.
