To define and evaluate user requirements and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective hardware and software platforms to satisfy application needs.
Identifying and applying system Patches.
Maintains existing Unix/Windows/Linux based server infrastructure and SAN storage units which includes analyzing, diagnosing and troubleshooting problems.
Adds, removes, or changes user profiles to provide appropriate authorization levels necessary to access to Linux, Windows servers, Active Directory.
Maintain the backup configuration and procedures for Unix, Linux, Windows, and mass storage devices and ensures data integrity.
Maintains system backup procedures and policies.
Good knowledge in UNIX, Linux, Windows, and Active Directory operating systems security concepts.
To maintain standards and Procedures Manuals related to server policies and procedures.
To maintain standards and operational procedures manuals related to server policies and procedures.
To monitor of systems performance to identify and rectify systems bottlenecks and to ensure timely capacity planning.
To ensure the security of Company data and applications, considering the increased exposure of our systems to internal and external attacks.
To ensure systems availability, security, reliability and optimum usability by minimizing risk factors and safeguard DSG IT infrastructure investments.
To keep planned and unplanned Servers downtime to a minimum, considering that some applications are used around the clock at the Sites.
Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes.
Good knowledge in understanding of an operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems.
Good knowledge in understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts
Experienced in working on tight schedules - Result oriented & committed to meet the goals
Maintenance and enhancement of personal skills and knowledge in Infrastructure and areas of responsibility.
Provide 24-hour on-call support.
