The Receiving Clerk is responsible for acquiring, and documenting all purchases delivered to the Hotel as authorized by the Controller. Additionally, the Receiving Clerk must work effectively in his/her area ensuring that the receiving dock and office within the Hotel are well arranged, clean and all records are kept updated in a timely fashion.
Hotel Overview: Fairmont The Palm is a luxury, world-class resort located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. The hotel features 381 guest rooms and suites with dedicated Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge. Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Cost Controller, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
Unload materials from trucks by hand or with hand operated or motorized equipment
Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to Inventory Audit
Must work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner
Stocks materials according to a prescribed inventory system. Materials Control Dispenses items and posts amounts of items to inventory control cards or automated systems
Ensure that all items received by the hotel are properly documented in accordance with Company purchasing and receiving procedures
Inspects items, as to quality and quantity, against
freight documents
Enter data and edit stock orders in a computerized inventory system - Materials Control
Safe and efficient storage of all supplies including Food & Beverage to allow for easy access
Ensuring zero product waste through proper management of goods on a first-in first-out basis
Counts, weighs, and measures goods received or issued. Unpacks incoming goods and wraps and packs outgoing goods
Opens, timestamps, separates, and distributes incoming mail in a mail/stores room
Maintaining excellent working relationship with all internal and external customers
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the receiving and storeroom areas
Planning, executing, verifying and valuation of daily, monthly and quarter-end inventories
Participate in the monthly or quarterly count of Food and Beverage inventories as well as with the quarterly count of operating equipment, according to company policy
Verify all goods delivered have correct documentation before receiving into Stores
Conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the Company and encourage staff to do the same
Perform any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience is an asset
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
