Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Survey existing sites and building interiors.
2. Designing interior spaces and managing and assisting fellow colleagues within the company.
3. Establishing liaison with clients, project managers and contractors in order to understand the nature of the project.
4. Develop initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in detail with clients (the brief) and setting project schedules.
5. Understand clients' needs and the needs of the people using the building, developing design concepts in consultation with the client and establishing final briefs.
6. Focusing on all types of design from retail, corporate, food and beverage and residential interiors. Food and beverage being our main focus.
7. Conceptual design of spaces taking into account brief, actual site dimensions and operational/ functional flow.
8. Concept and space planning of kitchen production layouts and general layouts.
9. Production of innovative 3D views/renderings for client approval, finish and furniture selection.
10. Production and later management of architectural drawings and shop drawings in AutoCAD and REVIT Autodesk including bespoke furniture, production of FF&E material schedules.
11. Preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes, often using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
12. Design and construction of mood boards / presentation / material / sample boards, along with maintaining and developing our sample library.
13. Hands on responsibility in design and co-ordination.
14. Site work supervision and management during fit-out stage to oversee our design intension and high quality is achieved.
15. Maintain and develop a wide knowledge of materials, suppliers and brands within the UAE and internationally.
16. Preparation of design presentation, and present design proposal to the client for review approval.
17. Independently able to co-ordinate technical meetings with clients and contractors.
18. Well spoken and written in English and be confident to share ideas and thoughts with team and clients.
19. Manage the project through personal project timelines, contractors, suppliers, laborers, etc.
20. Consider material and costs according to set budgets and negotiate project fees.
21. Source products, e.g. fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration and dressing, and providing samples for clients.
22. Working closely with quantity surveyors from contractors side to establish costs and work schedules on larger projects, with architects and other design professionals to determine the best use of space, and with manufacturers and contractors.
23. The job requires a person to work for long hours and discuss the issues of the projects with the clients.
24. May be required to visit the site of the building that involves long hours of outside activity.

Key Skills:

1. Conceptual design and developing new ideas and concepts.
2. 3D modelling, visualization and 3D rendering of high quality.
3. Good knowledge of construction detailing and material properties.
4. Good knowledge of Photoshop, AutoCAD, Revit Architecture.
5. Capable of running with a project from initial concept to completion.
6. Ability to translate 3D visuals to 2D drawings / 2D drawings to 3D visuals.
7. Time management and organizational skills.
