Executive Director – Corporate Communication – UAE NATIONAL
PURPOSE
To ensure articulation of Yahsat’s desired image and position locally and globally. By being responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will develop and maintain Yahsat’s image and position within the industry, market and the general public
Manage and leverage the relationship with industry authorities such as ESOA and governmental entities ensuring all protocols and events are being fully vetted.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
COMMUNICATION STRATEGY & BRAND
Responsible for the ‘Yahsat’ brand, image and reputation locally and globally. Manage Yahsat’s sub brands (with varying dependences) ensuring alignment to company objectives.
Define vision, strategy and execution plan for Yahsat, that governs the selection and execution of events to serve Yahsat’s business objectives. This includes researching events for the company, to target certain audiences to enhance our brand presence.
Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the Yahsat’s marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities, both externally and internally.
Device an annual communication plan – working with the relevant stakeholders to compile the list, keeping it up to date, and once approved sharing with the relevant stakeholders. This includes managing with partners all Communication plans around the events such as press releases, announcements, digital/social media plans.
EVENTS AND PR
Lead, manage and deliver end-to-end events for Yahsat with the highest standards and attention to details, responsibility begins with approaching and agreeing with sponsors, speakers, and industry executives, (regularly reporting back to management the progress on attendees, logistics, content, sponsorships and vender selection) to delivering a seamless event at the highest standards and attention to detail.
Manage the growth and alignment of Yahsat’s ‘corporate identity’, brand and image locally and globally. Oversee the CEO and senior management team brand and image (Executive Comms).
Act as the brand ambassador filling in as a public spokesperson representing senior management as and when needed. Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media.Compile a post-events evaluation report for each event (including a post-event survey where possible), and a quarterly full report for management.
MANAGEMENT
Manage the Corporate Comms team and oversee execution of strategy whether local, regional or global, across all available channels, ensuring brand adherence and effectiveness within agreed guidelines and budget as well as providing management with an updated report on a monthly basis.
Contract Management of Corporate Events, ensure compliance and necessary documentation is adhered to for all events (Internal Memos, G&E forms,etc.), liaising with the relevant stakeholders (Legal, finance, etc.)
Liaise with team and media partners on alignment of Yahsat branding and communication plans for each of the events
Constantly monitor emerging technical and commercial trends in the terrestrial and satellite broadband markets and lead proactive responses to competitive threats
Work closely with the Product Marketing/Communications to develop communication plan to increase and retain subscriber base
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors in, Marketing or Business Administration from a reputable university. MBA preferred.
Minimum of 12 years’ experience in corporate communication / Media / PR – preferably in telecommunications services / Satellite industry .
