About the Client
Our Client has recognized as the market leading multi-disciplinary contractor in the region, with all types of civil engineering and electro- mechanical works. They are a major U.A.E. company, with permanent manpower of over 4,500 employees, and excel in the full range of civil engineering, infrastructure, and electro-mechanical works likes pipelines, pumping stations and large capacity storage tanks, civil works on factories and industrial facilities, desalination, reverse osmosis and chlorination plants, high and medium voltage electrical networks, substations, street lighting, district cooling plants, chilled water distribution, heat exchangers, submarine pipelines and cables , sewerage, fire fighting networks, irrigation, landscaping etc.
The Role
Support the Senior Management in preparing strategic project management plans, establish project management processes and procedures, manage consultants, resource planning, risk assessment and value engineering and provide leadership to the project team. Candidate will be responsible for managing work as a General Contractor on public works projects and for specialized projects for the private sector.
Ensure the coordination and the surveillance of the works in the project assigned to him, including the work of any subcontractor
Ensure the implementation of progress monitoring concerning the construction activities and compare to planned durations and productivities
Consolidate data from all the constructors to manage the work scheduling
Single point responsibility for the assigned projects on a time, cost and quality basis
Control of and responsibility for assigned staff
Preparation of detailed reports and recommendations to Senior Management
Preparation and monitoring of programs as required
Setting up and managing document and check systems
Reviewing Contractor program submittals and commenting upon technical and practical competence and fitness for purpose
Participating in and coordinating value engineering and risk analysis reviews and making the recommendation to management.
Reviewing competence of companies being Nominated about planning abilities
Reviewing Tender documents and reporting deficiencies/recommendations
Tender reviews and preparation of report
Discussion and liaison with Consultants and third parties.
Monitoring design progress and adequacy and development of tracking documentation
Desired Candidates Profile
Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
12 years of project execution experience
2 years as construction manager
3 years in projects specifically in Dubai,
3-7 years’ experience as project engineer
Experience on construction site implementations in large/Medium scale construction projects (at least 50 million USD with proven track).
Excellent communication skills with strong teamwork ability
Experienced in working with multi-national groups and crews
Exposure in infrastructure projects like a pipeline, roads, storm water utilities. in the GCC/Middle East region
Good communication skills in both English & Arabic
Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders
