The purpose of the position is to retain existing and to win new business in line with the Group Business Plan and to manage the commercial function for the assigned region. The Commercial Director is a member of the Middle East Team, based in Sharjah. The position reports directly to the CCO, based in Rotterdam.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute annual commercial plans, strategies & targets.
Drive the commercial process from opportunity identification through contract negotiation/signing.
Ensure SL's pre-qualification on the bid list of companies as for relevant tenders.
Conduct market and operational analysis during the "prepare for tender" phase and submit the bid strategy.
Lead and manage tender processes in order to prepare and finalize bids.
Promote SL's portfolio and develop & maintain relationships with (potential) clients and other relevant parties.
Ensure contractual rate escalations and/or variations are executed.
Analyze and monitor market- and client trends.
Maintain Client data and Business Intelligence in the CRM system.
Identify and participate in key promotional activities.
Manage, appraise and develop direct reports.
To be successful in this position you will have:
A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Commercial preferably in a maritime related field.
8-12 years relevant commercial/BD experience within the marine services sector.
Mature negotiator, persuasive personality, self-started with strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
Knowledge of and familiar with the Middle East Maritime and Oil & Gas market.
Proven track record in the submission of winning bids.
Excellent skills in building and maintaining business relations.
Willingness to travel on a regular basis.
Fluent in English.
