A leading Airline in Dubai has a long term contract for 3 years for a Business Analyst with experience of business use cases, system use cases, entity relationship modelling, function hierarchy diagramming and process modelling, function to entity mapping and attributing the entities to join their team.
The business analyst will be responsible for the following;
Interfaces with external customers to drive sales leads to completion by demonstrating knowledge of Mercator products to enable closure of sales contracts.
Provide inputs to Sales and Market Development initiatives, such as- Requests For Proposals/Requests for Information- Application demos, presentations and pre-sales related workshops- Business cases and proposals.
Set clear and consistent performance objectives, implement performance management and development plans to ensure standards of performance and productivity are achieved and maintained enabling a high performance culture.
Requirements gathering from cross-functional selection of end users with the goal of translating business problems into prototypes and conceptual/logical design that address them.
Utilization of Agile/Iterative delivery approach throughout delivery life-cycle. • Design and deliver reports, documents and dashboards for consumption through web, mobile and distributed reporting platforms.
Facilitate information discovery on wide caucus of enterprise and relevant 3rd party data.
Seek information from sources outside of the Companies reporting environment such as travel trade publications, tourism bodies and financial institutions to provide a rounded, value-add approach to provision of information. Establish links between this data and our corporate environment to enable holistic macro and micro analysis.
Drive and support data modelling and other design activities to ensure efficiency and best practice overall design. Engage the business towards an agile methodology for delivering content to end users.
Champion the use of new BI tools, solutions and methodologies thus supporting the management team in providing a flexible and efficient BI capability.
Liaise and maintain relationships with relevant technical teams to ensure issues which affect data quality and access to information are communicated efficiently and effectively, and that timely actions are taken to rectify such issues. Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Knowledge
Relevant BI tool certification, preferably in design, implementation and deployment of BI solutions.
Extensive experience (5 years) in design and usage of data management platforms such as various MPP’s and Hadoop ecosystem (best-fit engineered architecture experience would be an advantage).
Extensive experience (5 years) in design and usage of enterprise BI tools such as MicroStrategy, SAP BO, Tableau, IBM Cognos, QlikView.
Experience in Agile project delivery.
Degree or Honors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce.
Experience in aviation/transport environment
Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail, with an understanding of data processing and information systems, tools and applications.
