Develop and implement strategies for brand launch and penetration in consultation with the General Manager
Ensure brand positioning in consultation with the Marketing team, Brand Principal and General Manager
Maximize productivity through effective deployment of resources at stores
Ensure complete sell through as per product, style and assortment plans
Ensure adherence to financial plan in all key areas - sales, markdowns, margin and average inventory
Study merchandise requirements based on sales forecasts, actual sales, company order parameters, inventory checks, forth coming events, replenishment needs etc.
Design the merchandise plan (pricing, promotion, assortment etc.) with the team for timely availability of stocks
Determine buying requirements and formulate buying plan and budget
Conduct product selection based on the requirements and research outcomes
Map competition prices / products and provide qualitative inputs to business
Ensure effective in-season management across territories (stock balancing, markdown management, stock analysis, and stock vs. sales performance)
Acquire market intelligence reports through various sources and analyze trends that may impact business
Research the brand acceptance within the region or any new territory and identify any inputs for customizations
Research and look at new sites for brand outlets and discuss the same with the Operations Manager and General Manager
Research on the latest trends in products, brands, styles, designs, fits etc.
Co-ordinate for new store openings and re-fits with the operations and projects team
Review and approve final seasonal blends by department
Review and approve seasonal and weekly sales budgets
Prepare Seasonal Event Calendar & act as marketing liaison for all media and promotional events

Achieve the sales target as per the budgeted sales and growth over last year
Achieve sell-through target (Average of Seasonal sell-through in each sub category)
Evaluate the selected site on parameters like trade area, customer base, and additional merchandising considerations.
Achieve budgeted gross margins and regulate markdowns.
Focus on Mystery Shopping results, customer feedback, loyalty sales growth percentage, employee motivation and morale, succession planning and employee turnover.
Communication & Working Relationships
Conduct regional sales and operations / brand meetings on regular intervals.
Review performance reports of the brands.
Motivate the staff, review meetings with the operations and brand teams.

Strong understanding of merchandising concepts and high analytical skills.

The drive and the ability to work collaboratively with others, Experience of working with multi-cultural teams
Experience in brand expansion, including project management of new store openings and directing support function activities
Skills in excel and retail systems is highly recommended
Education Qualifications-
Required: Graduate in Retail Management / Fashion Technology
Desired: Post- Graduate in Business Management
Relevant Experience -
10-12 years of experience in fashion retail with minimum of 8 years of experience in brand management
Experience in Luxury / Bridge to luxury brand Preferred.
Sound Understanding of best practices in Buying/ Merchandising.
