This new beginning gave the club a huge lift and the continuous support of H.H Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum helped the club rise to the top. The club has also helped the national side by providing a fresh of young stars who have impressed on an international level. Since then they have won three league titles the last one coming in 2008. Nicknamed The Slashers by local fans, Al Shabab have always been underachievers given the amount of fresh talent they have. They also won the Emir Cup four times.
