We are a boutique retail company with head office in Abu Dhabi. We are seeking an Accountant to join our team.

Job Summary

Should be qualified and have experience in accounting and financial administration activities. The individual shall be primarily responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of a new retail brand and for managing and maintaining the accuracy of the company’s inventory control systems. The Accountant shall be responsible for all book-keeping activities and the for accurate preparation of the company’s financial statements.

Main Responsibilities

ACCOUNTANT DUTIES
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information
• Prepare daily journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
• Recommends financial actions by analysing account options
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss
statement and other reports
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Manages inventory and logistics
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
• Secures financial information by updating the company’s Financial Management System (Xero)
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements via cheque, cash or
online transactions
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing account information and
trends
• Prepare variance analysis to budget forecasts and prepares monthly cash flow analysis on actuals
• Manages the external book-keeping and account services as provided by the local accounting services
• Manage the accounting for inventory, accounts receivables and payables
• Maintain overall responsibility for accounts payable, receivable and payroll
• Banking of all payments – cash and cheques in a timely manner
• Manage Petty Cash

Preference will be given to those who have experience with the accounting and Inventory Control systems: Xero and Vend HQ
